The Microbox is a system of industrial PC that can be utilized for tasks of communication and tasks of controlling. For tasks of controlling WinAC RTX can be applied which is a PLC software that communicate with tools through Profibus or industrial Ethernet.
The Microbox is the rail of DIN installed industrial PC with no any moving parts excluding for the alternative hard drive. The Microbox works on an Intel Celeron with speed 400MHz or 650 MHz, or an Intel Pentium III 933Mhz.
The Microbox supports Linux, Windows XP embedded, or Windows XP Pro. The system of operating can be started from an USB memory stick, an internal hard drive, or compact flash memory card. On version Windows XP Pro is used for the hard drive. On the Windows XP embedded is used for the flash drive. WinAC RTX offers the functions of controlling a PLC in an environment of PC. The software of WinAC RTX offers a shared memory area for parameters of real-time. This means that the applications of PLC programs for real-time controlling will have the capability to distribute the memory with application of Windows environment, i.e. both the programs and controller application in the Windows multi task environment have write and read contact to these parameters. It can be utilized for applications of third-party Windows that require transmit/receive information of real-time to control systems.
Interface of Communication
For the Microbox user communication has a serial port 9-pin, connectors of 4 USB 2.0 and monitor interface of DVI-I. The Microbox are prepared with one connector of Profibus/MPI and 2 ports of Ethernet for network communication. An significant dissimilarity between a PLC and a Microbox concerning the controlling functions is that a Microbox does not offers inputs of digital or analogue, while outputs the same method as a PLC.
