Operating Cycle of Programmable Logic Controller

Device of Programming
The Programmer executes ladder logic into Device of Programming. The files of processor are made in the mode of offline with programming device. These files are subsequently downloaded to the processors for operations on line. The majority of the operations carry out with the device of programming engage the processor file and the two components made with it, data files and program files. The device of programming saves processor files on floppy disk (or hard disk). The processor files of editing and monitoring is done in the computer workspace. After you choose a file from disk and edit it, you subsequently store the file to disk, replacing the original version of disk with the version edited. The hard disk is the suggested location for a processor file.

Power supply
Power supply is required to covert voltage of power line to those necessary by every soiled state components.

A PLC operates by constantly scanning a program. The Cycle of PLC scan consisting of 3 steps.
1. Input Scan time: Time necessary to ensure input status (ON/OFF) and save in data memory.
2. Execution Scan time: Time required by PLC to essentially implementation of ladder logic. The program is performed sequentially, beginning from first rung and proceeding to the last rung.
3. Output scan time: Time required by PLC to revise the status of output.

WDT (Watch-Dog-Timer¬)
• In sequence to assure the predictability system a WDT is utilized to assure that the processor finishes every scan in a timely manner.
• WDT is a timer of hardware integrated into the circuitry of CPU that watches the cyclical process or scan of the CPU.
• WDT is a maintain that validates the processor does not develop into stuck even as scanning the user program or for some other reason, become unable to finish the in progress scan.
• The WDT is rearranging at the end of each Scan Cycle by the CPU when the time of scanning is fewer than preset time of WDT.
• The scan time of program can go over time value of WDT In condition of one or more sub-routines. The preset value of WDT can resolve the problem in some cases increasing.
• Some PLC have WDT with set time periods, while others are changeable within particular limits.
• A 100 / 200 mS characteristic default time is standard for a lot of PLC with either permanent or changeable Timing Cycles of WDT.
