Modular Design
The Safety System of ProSafe-PLC contains a of plug-in modules range that comprises vital modules of control and critical modules of I/O. In the architecture of ProSafe-PLC these devices of Safety system co-operate in a flexible and selective method. The three modules categories contain modules of control, modules of I/O and modules of communication for plant-wide development of the interfacing and system to other networks.
The modules of control perform any arrangement of different control languages: ladder logic and function block, while an I/O modules series act as an interface between the field termination signals and module of control. A system of ProSafe-PLC is made for a specific application by basically choosing functionality as populating the ten-slot MODULRACK and individual modules shown. One local area system can configure up to 16 racks.
A connector on the back of the module connects with a container on the backplane of MODULRACK when a module is slotted into a rack of the module. This link offers the power path and the physical communication. The communication acquires effect as soon as the module is inserted when the system is on-line. This feature of hot insert lets the modules on-line replacement, minimizing process downtime for the maintenance system. Additionally, all the slots in a rack of module are similar. This permits any module to be slotted into any slot, offering maximum elasticity in the first system design and future growth.
High physical strength
The Safety function is ensured by the above explained system structure and the capability of self diagnostic. Then again, to avoid the fault by the harsh design and physical strength improves the reliability and availability of systems, it means of:
•The aluminum cast housing covering every module acts as a heat sink for the heat which is producing by components and builds a good Safety margin for the range of operating temperature;
•Covering of all electronic assemblies to protect against chemicals and humidity;
•clamp-type security and screw-in mounting of modules to guard against vibration and shock;
•Surge protection and isolated I/O to protect against interference of electromagnetic;
•Approvals of CSA and FM allocate the hazardous locations use in Class 1, div. 2;
•Access security of multiple levels and version control to prevent illegal software adjusts;
•The cable connectors and keyed slots for modules to prevent replacement faults;
•The modules of redundant are placed on different hardware, to minimize general cause effects.
