Interface Terminals of Maple Systems’ HMI5000 Human/Machine (Maple HMIs) communicates with Omron CS1 & CJ1Ethernet Series PLCs with the protocol of FINS. The Maple HMI is the master in a point-to-point single slave format, single master when configured with EZware.
Cable Communications
The Maple HMI can be linked directly to the port of FINS on the PLC. A communications list cables provided by Systems of Maple, as well as instructions of cable assembly to help you in assembling the communications cable, are accessible in their website.
Accessible PLC Memory
Register Memory
The register memory of PLCs ranges that the Maple HMIs are capable to access. Please take note that your memory range of PLCs may be smaller or larger than that supported by these HMIs. The register memory can be showed in format of 16 or 32 bit on the Maple HMI.
Discrete Memory
Please take note that your memory range of PLC’s may be smaller or larger than that supported by these HMIs. The discrete memory can be showed in format of single bit on the Maple HMI. Use the following syntax when accessing bit data in the field of Device Address: The bit value have to contain the leading 0. For instance, the Device Address field would contain: 508 to address bit 8 in word 5
Important Memory Considerations
If your memory range of PLC’s is smaller than the range supported by the Maple HMIs, it is probable to construct the HMI to check a memory address of PLC which does not exist. Because this can cause changeable results, when you construct the HMI so make sure that all chosen PLC memory addresses are applicable for your PLC model. Do not construct the HMI to write to any memory address of PLC if that exacting address should only be written to by the PLC.
