What is the difference between SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) and M2M (Machine to Machine)

What is the difference between SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) and M2M (machine to machine)? Both SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) and M2M (machine to machine) are two systems that have an important position in the use of electronic equipment. Both of them have different meaning and benefits. To know what the difference between SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) and M2M (machine to machine) you can see the review below.

M2M WIRELESS CELLULAR ROUTER

The definition of SCADA and M2M

First what is the difference between SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) and M2M (machine to machine) visits of understanding. SCADA is a computer-based industrial control systems used to control the process such as the process industry, the infrastructure and process facilities. SCADA is widely used for the production of gas oil, high voltage power lines and low and some of the applications that are used to monitor and control the production of large area. SCADA system typically consists of a computer-based monitoring system to collect data, PLC, the communications infrastructure linking the terminal unit with control systems and remote terminal unit that connects multiple sensor measurements.

While M2M is one of the areas of information and communication technology is the incorporation of communication technology, computer and power that can occur long distance communication between machines and humans through interaction in chemical, physical and biological processes. M2M has applications such as temperature sensors, pressure, humidity and sensors associated with health diagnosis. Then the police tracking service for animals, people, vehicles and goods, remote monitoring or processing simple machine to machine complex.

The function of SCADA and M2M

Secondly what is the difference between SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) and M2M (machine to machine) is in terms of functions and usefulness. SCADA created with the aim to help the utility company to get the optimum operation of the system in accordance with various advantages and disadvantages of fact contained in the power system. SCADA also serves a basis for taking the data in the parent generation equipment point pad, processing the information received by the reaction from the processing of information. So that it can be concluded that the benefits and uses SCADA is as send data, processes and monitoring activities, control functions, reporting and calculation.

While M2M is used to refer to the telemetric instruments that can be used to monitor the condition of public infrastructure were critical as well as water treatment facilities, electricity and reduce human investment. In addition M2M can keep supplies inventory or assist scientists in conducting research.

That is what is the difference between SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) and M2M (machine to machine) that seen in terms of meaning and function.
